Manual Roller Shutters
Manual roller shutters are a reliable way to provide security for industrial and commercial
applications when there isn’t electricity readily available. They’re perfect for securing farm
buildings, factories, industrial units, and garages. We understand all businesses have individual
needs and can offer two distinct options for manual roller shutters, ensuring you can find the
ideal fit for your requirements.
Advantages of a Manual Operated Roller Shutter
No Need for Electricity
Manual roller shutters can be installed anywhere with sufficient headroom, making them a versatile solution with a variety of suitable applications. They don’t require electricity to operate all thanks to a sprung barrel that counterbalances the weight of the shutter. This system allows for two opening mechanisms: a push-up system for smaller shutters (up to 4 square meters) and a hand chain pulley system for larger ones (up to 30 square meters). This is perfect for locations without access to electricity, allowing you to keep any premises secure.
Safe and Secure
Manual shutters are a great way to keep your building secure, but also promote safety. Able withstand strong winds, with some models achieving a Wind Class rating of up to Class 5 (based on specific European standards). Hand chain roller shutters also come equipped with a safety brake. This brake automatically engages if the counterbalance springs malfunction. This stops the shutter from dropping unexpectedly, ensuring compliance with health and safety and
preventing injury.
Bespoke Design and Finish
Our range of manual roller shutters can be customised to perfectly match your requirements. Choose between push-up or hand chain operation and select from a variety of lath styles andcolours for your shutters. Options include solid laths, perforated laths, galvanized steel, and both plastisol and powder-coated finishes in an array of colours. This customisation allows you to create a manual roller shutter that blends seamlessly with your existing design scheme and embodies your brand.
Hand Chain Roller Shutters
Hand chain roller shutters are a perfect solution for situations without power. The shutter is made from interlocking steel slats and secured with wind locks for added stability. The bottom rail can be adjusted for uneven floors, and side guides can be chosen based on your individual needs, with a spring-balanced roller barrel to ensure smooth operation. The shutters are operated by a chain which is connected to a gear reduction system, and a lockable box keeps the chain secure when it’s not in use. Our available finishes include galvanised steel and primer paint, with powder coating also available. Built and installed to meet British safety standards to ensure peace of mind, while maintaining the aesthetics of your building’s exterior.
Push Up Roller Shutter
The push up roller shutter is a different secure, manual roller shutter door for situations where you are unable to have power to your door. Made from interlocking steel slats, these roller 7 shutters adhere to British safety standards and come in a standard size of up to 2.5 meters wide by 2.5 meters high. Featuring a galvanized steel bottom rail, side guides, and a roller barrel with counterbalancing springs. The shutters are operated by pushing up or pulling down the shutters by hand, with a pull-down pole available for taller applications and ease of operation. Standard locking is included, and additional options are available upon request. Shutters can be painted or finished with a plastisol coating to fit your desired appearance, and perforated slats can also be added.
